My Day

Dragged myself out of the rack this morning filled with plans involving Walmart and Tim's and a little dress shop where I discovered a 70% off clearance 2 weeks ago.I bought this shirt to test drive and found it comfy, washable and with all the discounts, a steal at 4 bucks . Huge color selection...I bought the white of course, always up for the challenge but now had high hopes of traipsing in and buying 1 of every color. I am planning to golf you know and they would be perfect. I shopped at "The Mart" first for about an hour and navigated the checkout line only to discover at my turn, I was without my wallet. I sweetly announced this to the 12 year old checkout girl with the request to please set it all aside until I recovered my cash. She equally sweet said..."UNHUNH...RIGHT. But full of the joie de vie us Okanoganites exude, I scrambled from the Mart, headed back home got my wallet and appeared at said checkout as promised with cash. The saleschild said..."you actually came back...cool!" Next stop the store of shirt dreams....and you probably all ready know this....none left! I was shocked, indignant and depressed and needed escorting from the shop. Consolation came in a large vanilla latte with a sour cream glazed. And that was my day.....

Still looking for comfort

Oh my goodness, I love my bubble baths...my book...my tea..my Purdeys..my SOLITUDE. The thought of going to town is close to thinking about going for that mammogram I've been putting off for months. NO...CAN...DO.. Soon the whining must stop. I can see it in their eyes.

Sorry..but again with the graffiti

There is so much about Street Art that I love; number one being the irreverence and honesty of it all. One of my favs is Know Hope.

Dula's corner

This is Dula's space. It is in our bedroom. Here she eats, drinks, plays, sleeps and gazes lovingly at her favorite framed pics.

My best beading tools

Today while finishing a piece, I realized that in the jungle of my beading gadgets and tools, my favorite and most essential were the 2 I take for granted...my hands and my eyes. When I need to take a break it is usually to rest my eyes or stretch my fingers. and ya know I never lend them out, misplace them, or have to reach across the table for them. My eyes and my hands....priceless.

and what did you do today?

Today was a "get ready for the company day". You know that company, the ones coming from Sweden. I decided to get all the desserts and coffee breaks done and you must recall I am doing it while cleansing my liver.Even more of a challenge, while sipping the elixer of cleanse. As you might gather it did not go well. I am still clean but as grumpy as hell.

Best Day

What a wonderfull day spent beading and chatting with my sister from another mister, Myrle. A nice salad, good coffee, quiet room, fire burning all lending itself to sharing the peace of the afternoon. The sparkle of the crystal in the light of the Ott made us speak generously of our lives, husbands, and dogs......a wonderfull day.

Something to play at

Your rainbow is strongly shaded violet and yellow.

What is says about you: You are a creative person. You appreciate optimism. You are patient and will keep trying to understand something until you've mastered it. You're good at getting people to like you.

Another dream, another time

Margaret Kilgallen has lived my dream of decorating large often ugly utilitarian devices we use daily in our world. Some people call it graffiti but I see it all as the art of the everyman. Driving past the huge steel refineries in Alberta brings out the passion in me to express through art, an opinion,a love even a gratitude for the world I live in. One day...sometime...somehow I hope to paint some of this large ugly stuff.

Keano is such a whiner

Bon Jovi, Keano, Laurie and I have been playing hearts since the New Year, so what have I learned? Bon Jovi does not speak French nor does he play the Peter Sellers pretend to speak French game that Laurie and I are infamous for. In fact Jon is obsessive not only about his hair but also about winning. This is only slightly less annoying than Keanos incessant whining about his bad cards, people trying to make him look bad or preponderance of Bon Jovi,s music to Keano's Dogstar . Keep it up boys and you will find yourself replaced by Johnny Depp and Michael Buble. They will at least play the French game..oui?

Copper wire and lots of it

Here I am in the studio well before coffee time, ready to start the graffiti on the new studio sign. Why, I waited for daylight to begin this adventure...not too sure as I have been up all night thinking about it. I have decided to go all Gemini with it and try 2 forms of script, one in copper wire and another using tissue paper with the name printed on it and coated with acrylic black paint (idea from Laurie). I have finished with the tissue and now with band aids close by am starting the wire writing, Hopefully pics will soon follow and I will choose the one I like the best.

Great Week..did ya hear me...GREAT WEEK!

What awonderful world, sing it with me, art dudes? The Inspiration board did inspire and the new Madonnart Studio Mural and signage is in the final days of completion....the gazing, brainstorming, despairing then peace and hopefully the back away and clean studio stage...It is nearing the time to letter the piece. That scary, calling on all that is holy to give a steady hand and straight eye and then courage...lots and lots of courage as the ink goes on TOP of the piece.
Then there is the whole cleanse diet thing......fabulous first 5 days under the girdle and 5 pounds less......Lordy, "What a Wonderful World" said with Passion.

Ahhh...so how I feel

She sits there just daring me to take her treat (little white mouse) away. I reached for the sample of chocolate carmel cheesecake at Walmart; got my fork and was ready to dig in. The temptation in day 4 of the liver cleanse was too much. I caved. It's chocolate carmel cheese cake peeps and I am less than human. Then HE, "my reason for living" went to take it out of my hand and hold me true to my 2 week promise (support my buddy) and I too had the same look as little puppy........He won, or put in affirmative language, I won..I DID NOT EAT THE THING!!

Heeellllppp

I am in such an uncomfortable place right now with this collage/watercolor/stuff. You know that place where the thing looks beyond ugly partly because it is using a process and medium I have never really fully appreciated...sorry Claudine and along a landscape theme, not the usual airey fairy thing I am known for. It all came about through a visit to the Internaional Museum of Collage and Assemblage and realizing for all my talk about wanting to try all forms of art I was avoiding this. So here I am.......

Cheers!

Cheers Peeps! Day 2 of my 2 week cleanse. HA!! and you thought I was drinking that demon alkeehaul at breakfast; NOT! Yes, I drink this yummy liver cleanse with ice and in a wine glass. You do what ya got to do.
Bottoms up......

I SO must do this!

This Yes! Yes! Yes! This has been a long time dream...to paint a car...my way...color, graffiti, architectural lines...whooo hooo, pick me.

When to start this" after the birthday party?"

http://
I'm starting my "after" PAR TEEE right here, right now. It will be a marathon Rave sometimes grundgy and just not pretty and other times resembling a scene from Love Story..."never having to say you're sorry. Whatever the moments bring; I will bring my passion. I am standing back, with my safety goggles on. I'm ready ...rock on.

Passion my word for 2009

In keeping with the LNF tradition of choosing a word for the year, I have chosen PASSION. PASSION is simply to get at the core of who you are and what you want to do. It means to indulge, honor and live in your own imagination. It sounds fitting to adopt passion as my word for the year as the momentum to regain my zest for life is accumulating at an impressive and to many an alarming pace.
"There is a boundary to passion when we act from feelings but none when we are under the influence of imagination." William Burke WOW! that pretty much is a license to create.

Inspiration comes in all colors

This is what inspiration looks like for me in this moment. The colors especially drive me to the paint and beads. Special pieces saved from other artists continue to stop me at the board in wonder of their style and creative ideas. I am in love with texture, words, especially graffiti, zinging color and then black and white and ochre and of course my old obsession erotica. Looking at all of the pieces now press me to say,"bonsoir mes preeety peeps ...art calls."

Fresh, New ..Moment, Day, Year

Schoooch!! That is the sound 2008 makes as it leaves the room. Like the last spray in a bottle of perfume. There is a lingering odour of the beautiful scent that holds many sweet memories but quickly fades leaving you wanting more, though maybe of a different flavor, more suiting a new you. What will that be? Who will I be? Curiosity, anticipation, a little fear, call for a better, willing, braver me.SAWEEET...the sound of 2009's door swinging open and inviting me to the next adventure.

Best Idea EV..ER

This tiny light sits ever so perfectly and lightly on your ear and shines a white light on your beading or journal or book. I love it as does Dula my challenged, special pup. She will gaze into the light as long as it is on....I like to think she is dazzled by the blueness of my eyes... Many thanks to Laurie.
