SUN!!!

Some days are simply a gift. Today is this kind of day. Sitting outside in the sun, Tree Hugger Bold in the cup and latest Style at Home to read is just heaven. The Mission Hill Winery bells are ringing the noon hour and golfers are tip toeing through the goose doo. The lake is brilliant blue, mirror smooth, reflecting the snow topped hills. I've opened all the doors and windows to air out the house and Dula is a happy puppy laying in the beams.

No pain no gain

Here I thought no pain no gain would just be a dialogue for this year of surgery and rehab. Little did I know it would include ART. Art, that fail safe refuge for me in all times not so special. My safe place....happy place has now become the frustrating place. I have not tried to do jewelry or painting since the surgery, nearly 3 months, so today with ice packs firmly in place {physio day}, I hightailed into the studio.Couldn't reach the finding case, or lift it, couldn't open the bead drawer, the table is too high, the binder too heavy, the coffee machine unplugged, no toilet paper,no good chocolate, and I'm apparently out of Baileys....I valiantly pressed on. What can I say....I had taken my GOOD drugs and everything looked possible.NOT....NOT....NOT damn it. I will try again tomorrow when I have found chocolate, coffee and Baileys.

Spring

This little chuckle from me to you.....just watched the Great Northeners fly north after breakie on the course.....springs here!

A Newfie named Eric is driving home after downing a few at the local pub. He turns the corner and sees a tree in the middle of the road. He swerves to avoid it. He realizes there’s another directly in his path!

He discovers his drive home is causing him to veer from side to side to avoid all the trees. Moments later, he hears a police siren and stops his car.

The officer approaches his car and asks him what on earth he is doing.

Eric starts to tell the story of the trees on the road. The officer stops him in mid-senntences and says...

“Fer Chrissakes, Eric, that’s yer air freshener!”

Martin Luther King Day of Service

Hard to believe that I was graduating grade 12 when the first 6 year old black child was integrated into a white school in Alabama. I don't recall a conversation about it in our home and it was such a pivotal day.

Could it be possible????

Oh mother of insurance packages,I think I might possibly be at the end of this 8 year lesson in humility, patience and fund raising for my GP's winter retreat. The last hoop to be jumped through was the Letter Of Resignation and can you believe, THIS did not require Notarizing, printing in triplicate and sent to 8 people in the same company, same building but all needing their very own copy, and my GP's John Henry to the tune of $60.00 a copy. I could do it on FREAKIN EMAIL!!! SO...taking my inspired daughters advise, wrote a letter outlining the glorious last 8 years spent in a Canada Post Love affair, complete with inspiring quotes from Mother Theresa, Maya Angelou,His Holiness the Dali Lama and the great touring god, Jon Bon Jovi.3 Email pages of gratitude, recounting the life lessons I could not learn from reading Jenny McCarthy's new book, Love and Lust......I am finished..........Please people send mail, my life will be so lonely without them.
