Attach clasp to split ring.
String clasp on to suede lace.
Turn ends back and secure with lace crimp.

Whats with Survivor?

Are my cataracts deceiving me or are the girls on Survivor getting better looking as the starvation, cracked hands and feet and wet, freezing conditions roll into 6 days? Last night their complexions looked damn dewy and their hair clean and almost...DONE....The chick in the yellow dress could have gone out clubbing; she looked that cute.The guys who generally by week 5 are cut and surf dude looking , last night looked like crap...WTH?????? I think they should change the participants from Heidi Pratt look-a-likes and marginal guys to a season featuring retired military folk and maybe there would be less whining and more survivor action. Give them a chance at the million....just a thought.

Vintage Pearl and crystal....timeless

Pearls with crystal. Overall color is oyster, taupe and golds. the pearls are all shapes and sizes with tiny AB blue crystal here and there. I so love this piece and plan to wear it to the Ball on Saturday with a Vintage (read old) black cocktail dress.

Everything hurts

It's time to say goodbye.Goodbye beautifull purple flowers that JUST started to bloom. Goodbye tomato plants with frozen tomatos in place...I told him it was going to freeze.Goodbye stupid white, colorless, scentless ugly tree thing....HELLO huge pile of poop hidden behind lonely pretty bent willow. Yesterday was yard and deck cleanups followed by the traditional sleepless night of pain.

I am an ocean being. Facinated by the changing colors and energized by the movement, I will sit for hours trying to analyze the blend of Paynes Grey that makes the water so translucent or cloud structures and wave froth. Not always exciting for my travelling companions....the little black dog and pacing man.....but the blue...is it Cerulean or Indigo.......

Victoria

It started here.We arrived and the Ferry was on fire. Beginning of Thanksgiving weekend and 1 very large ferry short...gasp!

Then we ate...excellent homemade Miso noodle soup...and brought some home.

The homes are incredible, Victorian and the landscaping even Martha would find amazing.
The scenery...my goodness.......sorry....must go and weep a bit....too..too pretty.

Back from Island hopping

Back from a wonderful weekend in Victoria. My BIL, Brian, the brother I should have married, let us stay in his ocean view condo. Brian eats chocolate,drinks wine, enjoys good coffee and never looks at price tags. Dave, the brother I got, eats raw organic foods only....no sugar, no flour, no dairy and no alcohol and loves Thrift shops.Good thing he has learned the importance of thinking twice and speaking once and thus we are still married and he lives. The weather was sunny and warm and Thanksgiving dinners were boundless.I was a happy wife made even happier by an amazing Thrift shop find of 3 incredibly beaded Sari's; can't lift them but will take pics for next entry. Prepare to be amazed!

My Hero

Sorry dear Reader, I am still in a Nie Nie embrace and this lovely piece by Natasha makes me feel anything is possible even necessary to my life force.I think I am the Accidental tourist of everyday life and stuff just happens. Good stuff like finding a Kernels with Double Rum and Butter Carmel Corn and other stuff like dropping my computer and breaking the wireless mouse thingy. I see Stephanie Nielson and know that the good stuff just doesn't happen. We have to want it to happen and then comes the work- work- work part that makes it happen. Don't you just love her?

My mothers gift

One of the great joys in Nana's life was canning peaches for her son in laws. She was quietly excited when the boys got the box filled with her jars of gold and literally beamed when they expressed their joy at receiving them. I got More of a thrill just watching her face. Peaches, canning them is so much work but doing it for some one you love.....priceless.
